Photoshoot Guide & Tips
First of all - Guidance - I will guide you through your session, taking all the pressure off. But to help you prepare for your session with your partner, we've put together a guide and some tips for you to read over. These suggestions are meant to help you feel more comfortable and confident during the shoot. Remember, there's no need to stress—our goal is to capture the natural joy and connection you share during this special time.
Mum tips
Poses - Go back and have a look at the style guide above of what to wear and look what the women are doing with their hands for ideas of types of posed images.Trust me on the day of the photoshoot.
Fill out the questionnaire - this will help ensure the best results possible.
Underwear - Try to avoid wearing tight panties and bras. A looser fit will ensure that no lines form through tighter-fitting gowns.
Clothing - Wear clothes that require minimal fiddling or adjusting, and ensure there are no tags hanging out.
Accessories - If you have jewelry, consider wearing it as it can add detail to the images.
Winds - Please bring hair ties and be prepared to put your hair up or back if the winds aren’t in our favour.
Partner posing tips
Partners: Share your vision with him—let him know the poses you’d like him to do and how you want to be held and looked at before the photoshoot. Also, gently communicate what you’d prefer him not to do.
Direction and Poses:
- I will guide you throughout your entire session if you wish but here a few tips. No stress if you don't remember any of this, I've got you!
- If you’re an affectionate couple, I will guide you through kisses and cuddles.
Where to Look: I will guide you on where to look, whether it’s away, down at the belly, or at your partner.
- Candid images: Look away, across or down for a natural feel.
- Posed images: Look at the camera or towards each other.
What to Do with Hands:
- In your pockets
- On your knees or legs while sitting
- Around your partner while cuddling and standing
- Partners: Hold your partner's face or touch the head/hair.
Warmer weather
Swimmers: It would be rude not to bring your swimmers for after your sunrise or sunset session if you shoot at the beach! Best way to start or end your day! Don't forget the towel!
Colder weather
Warm Clothing: Bring warm clothing for before and after the session. For beach shoots, especially at sunrise, consider bringing warm footwear like Ugg boots, as the sand can be very cold.
