I have a laid back approach and love capturing candid moments. When it comes to specific photos, I’ll help guide and direct you, tell you what to do and where to put your limbs, so you feel comfortable and look your best. I will show you the photos during the session so we can make sure you’re happy and change things up if we need to. This is about you, and my main focus is on your comfort and enjoyment. The best advice I can offer is to simply be yourself and be in the moment with your loved ones. Please don't hesitate to tell me how you feel or what you want from the session.

I’ve spent a lot of my time travelling the world but I'm a local girl, and spent my life growing up in the eastern suburbs in Sydney. My shoots are taken place at outdoor locations in Eastern Suburbs but, if you prefer for me to travel to you to a location of your choice please enquire through the contact page as I love to travel and would love to chat with you!

My photography sessions are scheduled between Tuesday and Friday. However, I do offer a limited number of weekend sessions for which there is a weekend fee of $99

I have a collection of beautiful outdoor locations in Sydneys Eastern Suburbs already for you to make the process simple. Pregnancy and Family outdoor sessions take place at Sunrise and Sunset. Sunrise sessions begin at sunrise, and sunset sessions begin 1 hour before sunset. These times will change depending on the seasons as does the sunrise and sunset times throughout the year. Newborn in-home sessions start at 12pm as this is generally the best time for indoor natural lighting conditions. If this time doesn't suit your family please let me know to arrange a different time. Family sessions can also be taken at the comfort of your home.

Pregnancy & family outdoor sessions are 1 hour. Newborn sessions are generally finished within 1.5hours. If baby needs extra time with feeding and settling, this is totally fine. We allow plenty of time for this and I'm more focused on having a relaxed and calming environment for parents and families.

Once you secure your booking, I’ll send you my style guide which will have all the relevant information on what to wear for yourself, partner and kids (depending on what session you’ve booked). I also have a client wardrobe that is available to choose pieces from for the day which is included in the session price.

I'll send a welcome guide of 'what to expect' from yoyur session and guidance and advise on how to best prepare for your session, for yourself partner and little ones.

Pregnancy sessions
I recommend shooting anywhere between 30-36 weeks when your bump is really beginning to show. Shooting between these weeks also gives us enough time to avoid missing out due to bad weather or having to reschedule and hopefully limits the chance of your bub making an early appearance! During these weeks, you will hopefully be far more comfortable than you would be in the latter stages of your Pregnancy.

Newborn
I suggest booking within the first 5 weeks if you would like baby to have their womb-like behaviours. Although I believe there's no real difference in shooting newborns between days or weeks old as we still get beautiful results. I shoot newborns sessions up until 12 weeks old. After this age, I suggest booking an outdoor family session.

Babies and children:
Anytime is a good time to book in a family session but here is a rough guide of what to expect from different ages of your babies

12 weeks + - You're baby is more aware of the world now and will stay awake for longer periods. You'll have photos of baby awake, even smiling and can hold baby in many positions in your arms.

4-6 months - Baby will be starting tummy time now and will start to lift their own head. These shots can be quite adorable as they are also very engaged and can giggle at this time.

6-9 Months - Baby is capable of all the above and is also starting to sit up on their own, which can create adorable photos.

7-9+ Months - is the busier time when they are starting to crawl, wanting to stand and explore their surroundings.

10+ months - Some babies are starting to walk by now and outfits can look super cute once they're standing on their own and walking. Again, very busy little explorers and adventurers, curious and playful!

How do in-home newborn sessions work?

I come to you and shoot in the comfort of your own home.

I bring along blankets, wraps and nappy covers for baby but you are also more than welcome to layout any outfits/ blankets you'd like to be apart of the session.

Best time of the day to shoot indoors is 12pm when the sun is generally above the house and not shining through any windows. When I arrive, I'll look around to assess where the best light is, generally next to the largest windows in the lounge rooms and bedrooms. I may move around some furniture if I need to.

When booking in a newborn session, we lock in an estimate date based on your due date and I keep days free around these weeks for flexibility. Once baby is born, you let me know via email and we choose a date together if the original date doesn't work.

In the event of wet or dangerous weather, Emma McCraw Photography will make the final decision within 1 hour prior to the photoshoot to reschedule to the next available date.

Yes. Your partner is welcome in your pregnancy session and immediate family is welcome in the family sessions. Parents and siblings are welcome in the in-home newborn sessions. Please mention any additional family members you wish to join the session. Extended family members such as grandparents are at an additional cost when booking a family and newborn session.

An additional travel fee applies to photoshoot locations of your own choice and that is 10kms outside of Coogee. All parking/tolls’ expenses will also be charged as an additional fee.

Secure your session by paying a deposit of $99.00 of the total invoice at the time of booking along with signing a contract. The balance is due 14 days prior to the photoshoot.

We do offer payment plans. Please let me know in the comments when booking your session time online, and I'll provide you with the details.

You will receive an email link to access your private viewing gallery within 2 weeks from your session with instructions on how to choose your favourite images for processing.

Once you've selected your images, I will start the editing process then deliver your images beautifully edited in high resolution for downloading within 4 weeks from your selection date.

Here you have the opportunity to select additional images and upgrade to the keepsake linen boxes if you haven't already.

You will receive your viewing gallery within 2 weeks from your session. You will receive your high resolution files within 4 weeks from your selection date. Film photos, mini films (video) and keepsake linen boxes can take anywhere between 1-4 weeks. *Please note, turn around times can take longer depending on demand.

In the event that the client needs to reschedule the shoot, 100% of monies will be held and one other date can be secured.
